The book
“Contemporary Legal and Economic Issues” (inaugurial volume) was published in 2007 gathering
20 scientific papers done by altogether 33 authors coming from various institutions of higher education in
Europe and beyond (e.g. Mexico, Ghana, Poland, Sweden, Malaysia). The next book
“Contemporary Legal and Economic Issues II” was published in 2009 gathering
17 scientific papers done by a group of international authors coming from various institutions of
higher education in Europe and beyond (Poland, Romania, Sweden, Mexico, Ghana, Malaysia,
Japan, Russia, UAE, etc.).
The authors have been M.Sc. and Ph.D. students
and professors who individually or as a joint effort contributed an article that have dealt with contemporary legal or
economic issues. The book has been edited by two professors in cooperation with the international editorial board.
The guiding idea of the book was to promote scientific writing as the primary tool of academics and scholars to disseminate thoughts,
ideas, research results and boldly present them to the professional and lay public for discussion, praises and critiques;
to promote
cooperation between students and professors, i.e. mentorship, which is rewarding for both students and their professors by uniting them
in a joint effort to produce a work where each invests effort, knowledge and enthusiasm to the best of their potential and benefits from
the synergy effect; to promote international cooperation between individuals and institutions taking part in this “project” pointing out that
the distances in geography no longer represent an obstacle in establishing and developing the international cooperation and making the world
of science truly global; to prove through topics covered that nearly all issues, in this case related to the law and economics, have left the
strict realm of purely domestic jurisdiction. Since the book has been warmly welcomed by the academic community in Croatia and abroad, we have
decided to continue with its publication.
Call for papers
At this time, we would like to invite all interested authors to submit a paper for the next edition of the book.
The deadline for submitting a paper is
November 1, 2010. We have a strong preference for articles
in the field of law or in the field of economics
that are fewer than 30 pages, including literature. The articles must be accompanied by an
abstract
of 100-150 words in length and key words. The official language of the book is
English. Articles will not be language edited and it
is the responsibility of the authors to maintain the language level suitable for international readers. All contributions should be submitted
in determined style. Please refer to
style sheet provided
here. Received articles will be blind reviewed. Comments by the reviewers
will be forwarded to the authors via e-mail, in case some modifications are needed before publishing. The authors will be required to make these
changes and re-submit the article for publishing in due time (notification of the deadline will be provided).
Please forward this call for papers to your colleagues who may be interested in taking part in this exciting and rewarding project.
